Saint Lucia Association of Retired Persons undertake ICT training
The members of the Saint Lucia Association of Retired person embarked on an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) training programme. The objective of this programme is to ensure that members enjoy the benefits of being able to use the internet and other basic digital equipment, computers, laptops, ATM’s and mobile (Smart) phones.
 OECS ICT Strategy Group Meeting
OECS Member States are taking steps to fully embrace the digital economy. The OECS Commission has formed a special ICT Strategy Group to consider the region’s options for using technology more effectively to facilitate its integration agenda. The group is being chaired by the OECS Director General, Dr. Didacus Jules.
Study investigates impact of internet on Caribbean economies
A recent study on “The Impact of Broadband on Economic Growth in ECTEL Member States” has indicated that a one percent increase in the broadband penetration rate would lead to an increase in real economic growth of 0.076 percent.
Ministers endorse ICT Single Space roadmap
The endorsement was made at a Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development held in Barbados on Wednesday, 21 September, 2016. The Hon. Guy Joseph, Minister of Economic Development, Housing, Urban renewal, Transport and Civil Aviation of Saint Lucia chaired the Meeting.

Government to open fourth ICT Access Centre in Anse La Raye
The Ministry of the Public Service, Information and Broadcasting will open the fourth Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Access Centre, and the third in three weeks on Wednesday 27th April, 2016, in the village of Anse La Raye.
The event will be held at the Bay Gardens Hotel, and is expected to attract approximately one hundred visitors from all over the world, ranging from Heads of Regional and International Organizations, Ministers, Commissioners of Police, Attorneys General, Directors of Public Prosecution, ICT Personnel, among others.
El Open Data Barometer (ODB) tiene como objetivo analizar la influencia real y el impacto de las iniciativas de datos abiertos en todo el mundo. El Barómetro analiza las tendencias globales y proporciona datos comparativos para cada país y región. Para ello utiliza una metodología en profundidad que combina datos contextuales, evaluaciones técnicas e indicadores secundarios con el objetivo de explorar las dimensiones de predisposición para la apertura de datos, implementación e impacto. El ODB forma parte del trabajo de la World Wide Web Foundation sobre métodos comunes de evaluación para los datos abiertos.
